Artist statement
Shannon Craig Morphew was born in St John’s Newfoundland in 1977. There she was first influences by the raw beauty of the Canadian landscape. She continued her love of art by attending OCAD in Toronto and then selling her work through numerous solo exhibitions.
Shannon has become well known for her highly energetic and linear style. Her travels through Canada and Europe has helped her create a personal and vibrant vision. Her use of ink, oil paint washes and thick strokes of colour are characteristic of her approach.
